like i mentioned in previous post
i've done fondant cupcakes!
specially requested by my dearest buddy.. =)
it was my very first time after 3 years since i last did my FIRST fondant. =D
that time i used this recipe
and now i wanna share another simple and cheap way to make fondant.
here it is:
Ingredients
16 oz mini-marshmallows
2 lb powdered sugar
1 tbsp water
1 tsp corn syrup (optional)
1 tsp lemon extract (optional)
Yield: 3 lbs fondant
16 oz mini-marshmallows
2 lb powdered sugar
1 tbsp water
1 tsp corn syrup (optional)
1 tsp lemon extract (optional)
Yield: 3 lbs fondant
from cake boss
but mine, an altered version:
i used 2 packs of 250g mini marshmallow
2-3 table spoons of water
1kg of icing sugars
few scoops of vegetable shortening
colourings (oil based/paste)
basically.. first thing first.. melt the marshmallow. pour them into heat resistent container and add 3 table spoons of water.
Microwave them until marshmallows are puffed up and soft looking. (about 2-3 minutes) n stir with greased wooden stick every 30-45 seconds intervals.
Next step, stir the melted marshmallows until it mixed well and pour it onto bunch of sifted icing sugar..
u may put around 500g first.. then start kneading.. knead knead n knead until u can feel the consistency of the sugars changed. add some more sugar until it form the usual fondant u've seen.. thick, not-to-sticky, not-to-fragile.
to colour, just drop or dots ur fondant with what ever colour u want and knead until it mixes well. =)
keep it one day in a air-tight container or wrap with plastics before u use it just to make the colour n texture more stable.
scroll down n enjoy my first make-up theme fondant cupcakes photos. =)
thank you for reading.
assalamualaikum. =)
